ELECTRICIAN

Job Description and Requirements
Installs, maintains and repairs electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.

  • Ensures that his work is done in accordance with relevant codes.
  • Is responsible for installing electrical control systems.
  • Is responsible to make sure that everything is installed in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to the general public or any individual.
  • Assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. When the work has been completed the Electrician then must inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Qualifications
The Electrician must maintain current Electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations

Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to speak, read and write in English and Spanish

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
