Mardi Gras-Laredo Style.

Once a year, during George Washington’s Birthday, New Orleans comes to Laredo.

A festival-within-a-festival that takes place during the yearly Washington’s Birthday Celebration, Jamboozie is a Mexican-style Mardi Gras celebration combining the best of New Orleans tradition with Mexican and South American music, food, and entertainment.

The streets fill with revelers wearing feathers, beads, outrageous costumes and glittering masks. Local and internationally-known bands and performers descend on the city, giving free concerts and shows wherever there’s an outdoor stage. And conga lines and colorful parades wind their way around town, past dozens of booths offering local delicacies including tacos, enchiladas, gorditas, and more.

La Posada is proud to play a major role in hosting many of the festival’s events-both inside the hotel and outside at the historic San Agustin Plaza. We’ll keep you informed on the highlights of next year’s Jamboozie-and let you know when to break out your Mardi Gras beads.
